Clean Delivery Kits
Clean Delivery Kits (CDKs) are given to expectant mothers who may not have access to a clinic or hospital for the births of their babies. The items in the kits help to reduce infections for both mothers and babies.
If you would like to make CDKs for Zambia, please follow the instructions below.
Clean Delivery Kit Contents
Items need to fit into a Ziplock brand one-gallon bag (other brands self-inflate during shipment)
- Disposable absorbent bed pad (chucks) 36” x 36” or larger. Available on Amazon.
- Bar of antibacterial soap
- 2 pairs of exam gloves
- String (like crochet thread or similar) for the umbilical cord – 2’ length
- Single-edge razor blade (You can find these in bulk at a home improvement store)
- Washcloth
- Receiving blanket (new or used. Must fit into the bag—fleece is usually too bulky.)
- Infant sleeper size 0-3 months (new or used)
Additional items will be added in Zambia, but are not to be included for shipping: candle, matches, pictorial instructions, pain relievers.
Packed boxes of CDKs need to be shipped or delivered to 658 EN 21st St, Abilene, TX 79601 no later than January 1 for shipment to Zambia. If you have questions, contact us by email at info@zambiamission.org or call 800-993-3461.
Thank you for caring about Zambian mothers and babies.
